Environmental Software Analyst

PQA has an opening for both an entry-level and intermediate-level environmental software analyst, with a probable start date of May 2009. This position involves supporting implementation of international and domestic greenhouse gas registries and related emissions trading programs. Projects include technical analysis and review of emissions data exchange standards for the Kyoto Protocol; support of system requirements analysis, development, quality assurance, and implementation; report preparation; and similar assignments. Qualified candidates will have excellent analytical, communication, computer, and writing skills. Four year college degree required. Background in environmental science/engineering a plus. Experience with information management systems preferred.
Java Web Application Developer

PQA has immediate job openings for intermediate and senior level Java Web application developers. Work involves implementation of a large, complex environmental data system including Web interfaces and services, XML transactions, automated data quality assurance, and analysis reporting. Qualified candidates will have experience in the following areas: agile development methodologies, test driven design, continuous integration, Java, Web development including W3C and WAI/WCAG standards, Spring, Struts2, DBMS/SQL, Hibernate, and Maven. Knowledge of additional development languages such as Groovy, Python, and Ruby a plus. Four year college degree required. Computer science or software engineering degree preferred.

This position is for a full time programmer/analyst to assist in the development of large scale, web-based, environmental data management systems that support government initiatives for climate change, emissions trading, and other environmental programs. This position involves working with large sets of data in a complex, multi-tiered architecture and collaboration with teams of technical specialists. Four year college degree and 1 - 5 years of directly related experience required. Web applications development and IT related degree preferred.
